Khaled EZZEDINE is a Professor of Dermatology, with a PhD degree in Epidemiology and biostatistics, and an habilitation to supervise research in epidemiology. He is also a researcher attached to the research unit INSERM U1153/INRA U1125 of the Paris 13 University. His major topics of interest are pigmentation disorders including vitiligo and disorders on ethnic skin in adults and children, skin aging and research of its determinants. His research topics include qualitative epidemiology and he has leaded the construction of several quality of life scales in Dermatology. He is currently leading VOICE, the CHORD and Cochrane Initiative For Outcomes in Vitiligo of C3 (Chord Cochrane Collaboration). He is the head of the Global Vitiligo Atlas (GLOVA) which has been launched in 2023 under the auspices of the ILDS.
Since 2015, he has been appointed Professor of Dermatology at Paris Est Créteil University and has joined the Dermatology Department at Henri Mondor Hospital. He has authored over 350 articles in referenced journals including The Lancet, The Journal of the American Medical Association, and the New England Journal of Medicine. He has published the Lancet Seminar on vitiligo. In addition, he is a reviewer for several leading medical journals such as the Lancet, the British Journal of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, JAMA, Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Investigative Dermatology among others and has been recently appointed as the Section Editor for Epidemiology and pigmentary disorders of the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
